Productivity
The new HP DesignJets are considerably faster than models even three or four years old. Compared to an HP DesignJet 650C, the new 800 series is over 2 1/2 times faster printing a color D-size drawing while a 1000 series is over 5 times faster.
Compatibility
As CAD software changes and evolves, plot files have gotten larger and more complex. Finding drivers to interface new CAD systems with old plotters can be a time-consuming, expensive process, with less than desirable results.
Reliability
Maintaince and replacement parts are no longer available for DesignJet series 200, 300, 600 and 700A units. Replacing the plotter before it fails allows you to control the timing of the change-over.
Economy
Supply costs can be as much as 50% less for newer plotters. This is particularly true if your existing plotter is sheet-fed.
